Active Transportation Engineer

As an active transportation engineer, you will work on the design of innovative multi-modal transportation solutions in Southern California. You will contribute to the management, design, production, and delivery of transportation projects, specifically related to complete streets, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, and traffic engineering. Projects Chen Ryan is working on currently include: Protected Bikeways, Protected Intersections, Roundabouts, and Parks.

In this position you will: Serve as design lead for active transportation projects in the built environment; Manage and perform Civil 3D related design tasks; And assist with the development and management of project scope, scheduling and budget.

Assistant Traffic Engineer/Planner

Rick Engineering

Assistant Traffic Engineer/Planner will supervise the work of traffic engineering design teams; manage project schedules and budgets; prepare contracts, fee proposals, and scopes of work; and interact with clients and public-agency. This position generally requires extensive experience and demonstrated engineering abilities in all aspects of traffic engineering and planning projects; and in interacting comfortably and productively with clients and public agencies. It is desired that the Candidate be experienced in HCS, Vistro, Synchro, and other traffic related software, as well as the California Vehicle Code (CVC), MUTCD, and familiar with Highway Capacity Manual.

Associate Traffic Engineer/Planner

Rick Engineering

Associate Traffic Engineer/Planner must demonstrate strong independent thought and decision-making abilities; possess demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills; exhibit management ability; be adept in establishing and maintaining strong and positive working relationships with clients/public-agency personnel, and in-house staff. Candidate shall have recent Southern California experience, preferably in the San Diego County Region. Candidate’s managerial experience shall also include the following: supervision of traffic engineering design teams; management of project schedules and budgets; preparation of contracts, fee proposals, and scopes of work; and experience in client and public-agency interactions. Candidate’s technical experience shall include the following: providing municipal traffic engineering services, preparation/processing of final traffic engineering plans (traffic signals, traffic control plans, signing/striping plans, etc.), preparation of Traffic Impact Analysis, and various traffic related studies and reports. Experience in transit planning and design is a plus.

Associate Traffic Designer

Rick Engineering

Associate Traffic Designer must have working knowledge of Highway Capacity Manual and associated software (HCS), Vistro, Synchro and Simtraffic software and MircoStationor AutoCAD. Familiarity with Caltrans standards and procedures relating to traffic design and operations is a plus. Experience must include all or part of the following: Traffic Impact Studies, Traffic Capacity Analyses, Parking Analysis and Design, Signal Timing and Coordination, Traffic Signals, Traffic Control.
