Mentorship Program

2018 Mentorship Program

Would you like to partner with industry leaders to learn and to grow?

Are you looking to share ideas with someone outside your company??

 

The WTS Sacramento Chapter 2018 Mentorship Program is under way! We are currently accepting applications for mentors and mentees to actively participate in our Program.

Being a part of the Program will include activities for both mentors and mentees such as:

  • Listening Actively

  • Identifying Goals

  • Sharing Experiences

  • Building Trust

  • Encouraging Action

  • Providing Inspiration and Corrective Feedback

  • Opening Doors

  • Guiding with Instruction and Development Capabilities

All participants in the program will enjoy benefits and learn new skills or strategies to help us move forward and enhance our WTS members' career goals and growth! Please fill out an application by December 17, 2017 to participate in our 9-month program. Participants will receive an email with information about the Program schedule, including our kickoff event which will be held in February. (see eligibility requirements below)

Previous mentoring experience is not necessary! 

WTS Sacramento Mentorship Program:
Eligibility Criteria

  • All mentors and mentees are required to be a WTS member at the start of the Program. If you are not yet a member, there is still time to sign up! Please contact our Membership Chair Amanda Kahn: Amanda_Kahn@wreco.com

  • All mentors and mentees should have the ability to make a commitment to the 9-month program; which will include attendance at one kickoff meeting held in February 2018, and one wrap-up event at the end of the Program, as well as 7 to 8 monthly meetings between mentors and their mentee (at mutually agreed-upon time and dates)

Mentors:

Women who hold senior positions in the transportation, or transportation-related industry, and have the desire and ability to assist their mentees to learn and grow in their careers.

Mentees:

Women with at least two to five years of experience in the transportation industry, or a related industry, with experience in transportation work or projects. Also have skills and abilities that demonstrate leadership.
