We are pleased to welcome Lisa Marie Alley, Deputy Director of  Public Affairs/Press Secretary - California High Speed Rail Authority,  to provide an update on the California High Speed Rail Program.  She will discuss why high-speed rail is a transformative investment in our future, the work currently underway, and what is to come in the future.

About our Speaker:

As the Deputy Director of Public Affairs and Press Secretary, Lisa Marie Alley manages and oversees all aspects of stakeholder outreach, media relations, and political communications for the California High-Speed Rail Authority.  She is responsible for the implementation of a comprehensive media and public relations program for the Authority to inform the public as it carries out its mission of planning, designing, building, and operating the nation's first high-speed rail system in California.

Alley has more than 14 years of experience in the field of public affairs and meida relations.  Most recently, she served as the Assistant Deputy Director of Communications for the Authority.  Prior to joining the Authority, Alley was the Communications Director at Blanning & Baker Associates, a consulting firm, where she helped transportation and infrastructure clients achieve their objectives in the California Legislature and media.  Alley was also a television journalist at KCRA (NBC), the number one station in Sacramento, KOAT (ABC) in Albuquerque, and KOMO (ABC) in Seattle.

Alley graduated from Seattle University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism.  She is a multiple Emmy Award winner, current member of the Sacramento Press Club, and a Sacramento WTS member!
