WTS-Puget Sound Chapter 2019/2020 Mentoring Program

If you’re interested in being a mentor or protégé, please sign-up!

WHAT: Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) is an international, non-profit organization committed to developing excellence in the transportation industry. To provide support for those who work, or are interested in working, in the transportation industry, WTS’s Puget Sound Chapter is offering a FREE 8-month mentoring program (open to both men and women).

Mentees:If you are looking to take your career to the next level, this is the opportunity for you. You’ll be able to gain the knowledge and wisdom of the women pioneers who blazed the path before you. We are seeking junior and senior professionals to serve as mentees.

Mentors:No matter what your interests and experiences are, you have knowledge and experience to share from being a working professional. You will be able to share career success stories with future women (or men) leaders, build long-term relationships, and give back to an industry that needs to hear and remember these stories. We are seeking:

  • Senior professionals to mentor junior professionals
  • Junior professionals to mentor entry-level professionals and college students

WHEN: This year’s program runs from November 2019 to June 2020.

HOW: Submit an online application using the links below by the specified deadline including details about your education and career, your interests and aspirations, and your goals for the mentoring program. The information you share will help us find the right mentor/mentee match for you!

You will be matched up with a mentor/mentee by the WTS Mentoring Committee of your pairing and invited to the Kick-Off Event. Other networking and program opportunities will follow throughout the program.

Planned Events:

Kick-Off Event:  Join us in early Novemberfor a meet and greet and discussion of the mentoring program

Mid-Year Event:  Connect with other mentor/mentee pairs and participate in a discussion on a professional development topic planned for late January 2020

Closing Event:  Celebrate the end of the program with a happy hour and networking event planned for June 2020

APPLY! The application period opens Tuesday, Oct. 1. Apply by clicking on the following links for mentors or mentees to access the online applications.

The application deadline is Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019.Late submittals will be put on a “waiting list” and are not guaranteed to be paired during the current program year, so don’t delay in completing and submitting your application!

Expectations:  Please only apply if you are willing to commit to the 8-month program out of respect for everyone’s time. Mentors and mentees will be responsible for meeting at least once a month on their own during the program – this can be face-to-face or on the phone as agreed upon by each pair.  We also ask that you make a special effort to attend each of the three planned events.
