Constructing logistics: Preparing for the new Intermodal Container Transfer Facility

11:30 AM - 01:15 PM Eastern Standard Time

Jacksonville Transportation Authority Board Room
100 North Myrtle Avenue
Jacksonville, FL , 32204

The next major facility in Jacksonville logistics will be built soon! The Intermodal Container Transfer Facility (ICTF) will be a major economic enhancement to Jaxport and Northeast Florida, creating new opportunities in the transportation and logistics arena. This will give Jacksonville a more cost-effective, efficient, direct transfer of containers between vessels and trains and further enhance the competitiveness of the TraPac Container Terminal and Blount Island operations.

Come hear from our speakers as they discuss the bidding opportunities and deadlines, the full capability that the ICTF gives Jacksonville’s port operations, and the vision for the future in Jacksonville logistics.  It will be a great chance to learn about an important project and may be a business opportunity.  The most relevant players in the project will speak as a panel:

  • Joe Miller, Senior Director of Infrastructure Development at JAXPORT
  • Vance Bennett, Director of Port Development and Strategy at CSX
  • Dennis Kelly, Regional Vice President and General Manager of the TraPac container terminal

Attorney George Gabel, a nationally recognized maritime legal expert with Holland and Knight, will moderate the panel.  With TraPac currently built to handle 1 million TEUs annually, the Panama Canal expansion allowing larger, Post-Panamax cargo vessels to reach Jacksonville, and major distribution centers like SAFT and Bridgestone choosing Jacksonville, a facility like this ICTF is the most important development in Jacksonville transportation construction.

Join us and learn more about Jacksonville as the transportation logistics center.
