WTS Taking Sponsorships for 2016 Rail Forum

North Carolina Department of Transportation’s Rail Division and the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) North Carolina Triangle Chapter are jointly hosting a regional forum among six Southeastern states. We invite you to take advantage of this opportunity to become a sponsor for the “Southeast Rail Forum: Preparing for Change – Planning for Success,” (SRF) scheduled from March 16-18, 2016 in downtown Charlotte, NC.


Congratulations to our Local Scholarship Winners

The NC Triangle Chapter recently announced the recipients of its annual scholarship program. The chapter awarded a total of $5,000 to four women pursuing careers in transportation-related fields.


Voting for Executive Board to Start This Week

WTS NC Triangle Chapter members will receive survey e-ballots this week to begin the voting process for the 2016-18 Executive Board.


Nomination Process Begins for 2016-18 Executive Board

Nominations are open for the 2016-18 Executive Board of the WTS NC Triangle Chapter. All four offices are open this year: President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Any chapter member can nominate themselves or another member for an office.

WTS-NC Triangle Chapter Earns Gold Status from WTS International

WTS-NC Triangle Chapter earned Gold Status this year in the WTS International’s Circle of Excellence Program. This is a new program implemented by WTS International to recognize the work that chapters do in membership and management activities.


Our Transit Future: The Durham-Orange Light Rail Project

The Triangle area is rapidly growing and will almost double in size by 2040. Local leaders need to determine how current and future transportation infrastructure will accommodate that growth. Towards that goal, Durham and Orange County voters approved referendums in their respective counties in 2011 to fund improvements to public transit. .


WTS NC Triangle Chapter partners with NCDOT for “Introduce a Girl to Engineering”

The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), with the support of Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS) NC Triangle Chapter, recently hosted a series of events where girls in high school met and learned from women engineers.


Congratulations to our local scholarship winners!

NC Triangle chapter celebrated the importance of higher education by awarding four local scholarships to women pursuing careers in Transportation for gradate, undergraduate, community college and high school.
