Future City Competition - Call for Volunteers

The Future City Competition is a long-running national competition in which teams of 6th, 7th and 8th grade students imagine, design and build cities of the future. Each team includes a teacher and a volunteer engineering mentor. The competition is one of several National Engineers Week initiatives.  The North Carolina Region has proudly participated for fourtheen years.  It’s your turn to make history in our 15th year!

Please consider volunteering your time as an engineering mentor for North Carolina middle school students participating in the competition.

All types of engineers, city planners, architects, or other related professionals are welcome! Engineers particularly knowledgeable or interested in waste management will find this year's research topic particularly fun.
