2019 WTS-Boston December Luncheon Seminar and Annual Meeting - Featuring Astrid Glynn, MassDOT

On Thursday, December 19th, WTS-Boston will host Astrid Glynn, MassDOT Rail and Transit Adminstrator.  
 
Astrid Glynn grew up in the Boston area. She graduated from Bennington College and Albany Law School. 
 
This is Astrid’s second tour at MassDOT. During her previous tenure at MassDOT she served in a variety of roles, including as Deputy Secretary for Capital Planning and Executive Director of the Office of Transportation Planning.  She also served as Deputy Secretary for Transportation at the Massachusetts Office Commonwealth Development, which coordinated state programs for transportation, housing and the environment. 
 
In 2007 she was recruited to New York State where she served as Commissioner of the NY State Department of Transportation. At NYSDOT she added women to the Commissioner’s leadership team and appointed the first woman to lead a highway district.   
 
In 2015 Secretary Pollack appointed Astrid as Rail and Transit Administrator for MassDOT.  In that role she manages 300 miles of MassDOT owned rail line, oversees state funding and technical assistance for 15 regional transit authorities, and provides support for community transportation.
