This is a first-time event and we are expecting over 100 attendees.

Friday’s program will finish with a high-level DOT panel discussion moderated by Anne Ferro, featuring region DOT panel representatives including Ann Schneider, Illinois State DOT Secretary. There will be a Friday evening reception to honor the DOT panel at the Four Seasons Hotel

Saturday, March 15, will feature professional development targeted towards advancing the WTS mission. The program will begin with keynote speaker, Chris Vineis, President of Capital Partnerships, LLC, who is a founding member of WTS, and will continue with an interactive workshop by Shelley Row, President and CEO of SRA, LLC. The workshop, “The Yellow Brick Road To Success: Lessons from Dorothy and the Wizard” is a unique professional development session spawned by the Lean In movement on advancing women in leadership roles. The program uses a creative twist on The Wizard of Oz to make points about the business reasons for women in leadership and what women and men can do to create better balance for everyone. Learn actions and techniques to support both women and men in creating better quality of life for all.

What is the purpose of this conference?

This conference was created to provide meaningful educational experiences and opportunities to become engaged with local transportation professionals for members in the Central Region. Other than the WTS Annual Conference, chapters hold a number of local activities each year but do not get opportunities to interact with members from other states. The goal of this conference is to provide high-caliber education, networking, and speakers that are accessible locally to members at every chapter in the region.
