March 24 was a joyful evening for our chapter when we celebrated our 18th Annual Scholarship & Awards Ceremony. It was a time to thank our sponsors, recognize the recipients of our scholarship program, and honor our award recipients for the year. Dubbed by Councilwoman Kate Gallego in her opening remarks as the “Transportation Prom," it was a great excuse to get dressed up, mingle and network at the historic Wrigley Mansion - the perfect backdrop for our evening.

Some noteworthy highlights:

We dedicated the evening to Esther Kmetty, a founding member of our chapter who passed away on September 1, 2016. Her son, Chris, presented a scholarship in Esther’s name.

$16,500 in scholarships were handed out to seven deserving, up-and-coming, undergraduate and graduate women pursuing transportation-related careers. This included $7,500 in scholarship partnerships with Arizona Transit Association and Support Sky Harbor.

We had a record attendance of 203 registered guests!

The generous participation during the Heads Or Tails fundraiser game totaled nearly $1,500 back to our chapter (even after the 50/50 split). The proceeds will continue to fund our chapter operations and scholarship program.

Congratulations went to the 2017-2018 Award Winners and Scholarship Recipients listed below:
