February Luncheon

11:30 AM - 01:00 PM Central Standard Time

The Women's Transportation Seminar San Antonio Region launches its 2014 Luncheon Series with an overview of infrastructure development and its economic impact on what is one of the fastest growing regions in the United States - the Austin-San Antonio Corridor.

Join us as we welcome Ross Milloy, President of the Austin-San Antonio Corridor Council, a non-profit public-private partnership of cities, counties, public authorities, universities, and private businesses dedicated to long term infrastructure development, economic development, and regional cooperation in Central and South Texas. Since 1995, the Corridor Council has helped to secure more than $3 billion for studies, engineering, and construction funding for infrastructure and economic development projects along the Interstate 35 Corridor between San Antonio and Austin. The Council has also been active in international trade, clean and green energy technology, and land and greenspace planning.

Milloy also serves as the Executive Director of Lone Star Rail, an agency created by the Texas Legislature to develop freight and passenger rail improvements in the Austin-San Antonio Corridor. To date, the agency has raised and deployed about $60 million for engineering, environmental review, and economic impact studies related to passenger and freight rail projects.

Prior to becoming president of the Council, Milloy co-edited four books on public policy, worked as a journalist for The New York Times and other publications, and was one of the founders of the Texas film industry. He has also worked in the Texas Legislature and as a press aide to a Texas gubernatorial candidate.
