Stuff You Don't Learn in School, presented by Carl Selinger, covers the most important soft skills that transportation professionals in all stages of their careers need to know. These non-technical skills include: decision-making; setting priorities & managing time; being effective at meetings; better speaking, writing and listening; teamwork & leadership skills; understanding themselves and others; negotiating; managing stress and having fun; action planning; and other professional skills.

Carl's (presenter) forty-year transportation career includes thirty years with the Port Authority in aviation and transportation planning. He was the first man to join the WTS GNY Chapter, was 1998 GNY Member of the Year, and served as a Mentor during the first ten years of the GNY Mentor Program. He taught transportation engineering for many years at Cooper Union, Maritime College and CUNY. Over the past twenty years, Carl's seminar has been given to many transportation agencies, engineering organizations and numerous professional societies-including a dozen WTS Chapters--throughout the U.S., Canada and Scotland.
