Women Changing Transportation 2018: Overcoming Gender Bias in the Workplace

06:00 PM - 08:00 PM Eastern Standard Time

TransitCenter Office
1 Whitehall Street, 17th floor
New York, NY , 10004

This event, in collaboration with TransitCenter, asks women working in transportation to discuss gender bias in the workplace. Panelists will talk about their backgrounds and trajectory to their current roles, and reflect on how work environments can support the inclusion and advancement of women through the transportation ranks.

As the national dialogue around gender equality in the workplace gains traction and nuance, this conversation will address opportunities to elevate women’s voices in our field. What are the challenges and opportunities for creating work environments that empower women to share their perspectives and move transportation forward?

Join TransitCenter, WTS, and this diverse and accomplished panel to continue last year’s conversation about rising in the ranks as a minority in the field.

Laura Weins, Executive Director, Pittsburghers for Public Transit

Nicole Garcia, Borough Commissioner, Queens, NYC DOT

Midori Valdivia, Chief of Staff to Pat Foye, MTA President
