A Forum with Dallas County Leaders

Join WTS for a conversation with two of Dallas County's Leading Women

The Honorable Delia D. Jasso, City of Dallas

Delia D. Jasso, a lifelong resident dedicated to the challenge of improving the quality of life in her beloved Oak Cliff, was elected  to the Dallas City Council in June 2009 to represent District 1. She was re-elected in May 2011 to continue improving and representing District 1. Having served as a community and civic leader for more than 20 years, Delia Jasso came to her Council seat with a proven track record of success in serving the citizens of District 1, Oak Cliff and the City of Dallas.

While vigorously representing the interests of her own District, Councilmember Jasso shares her concern for the city as a whole by serving on various City of Dallas committees, including the Arts, Culture and Libraries Committee as Vice-Chair; Ad Hoc Legislative Committee for Judicial Appointments as Co-Chair; the Public Safety Committee; Trinity River Corridor Project Committee; and the Transportation and Environment Committee.

The Honorable Rose Cannada, City of Irving

Rose Cannaday was re-elected to the City Council in May 2011. She served as Mayor Pro Tem in 2010-11 and served as Deputy Mayor Pro Tem during 2009-10. She is the President/Owner of Cannaday & Associates Mediation Company. She provided the leadership for the city's logo change, rebranding of the city, and the development of the city's new web site. While serving as the liaison to the Communications Committee she has played a role in overseeing the demolition of Texas Stadium, which made national headlines. She has worked closely with the Legislative Committee to ensure Irving is properly represented in both Austin and Washington DC.
