Working with Municipalities: Glean practical information on how local government works-- a local government for dummies--that goes beyond the nuts and bolts of how local government works and provides a holistic view by discussing the value of understanding various perspectives and communication styles.

Navigating the Municipality Maze

Former Denton County Commissioner and author Cynthia Northrop White will go beyond the nuts and bolts of local government and provide a holistic view of working with municipalities. White will discuss the value of  understanding the various perspectives and communication styles that influence interactions with local government officials. Understanding the perspective of city/county staff, versus elected officials and how they see their roles, especially as it relates to serving citizens and public engagement, provides a unique vantage point for consultants and agencies as they work with local governments.
