2010 WTS Awards Nominations
The WTS-San Francisco Scholarship and Awards committee is seeking nominations for the following local awards to be presented at the WTS-San Francisco awards dinner on May 26, 2010. Winners will be submitted to WTS International for consideration for the International award competition.
Member of the Year: Recognizes a WTS-San Francisco member who has made extraordinary contributions to the success of the organization.
Woman of the Year: Honors a woman who is an outstanding role model and has contributed to the advancement of women and minorities in transportation.
Employer of the Year: Recognizes a business for its support of the goals and purpose of WTS.
Rosa Parks Diversity Leadership Award: Honors an individual (s) or organization (s) that has made significant contributions in promoting diversity and cultural awareness within their organization, the transportation industry, or in a project or activity that supports the goals and mission of WTS.
Innovative Transportation Solutions Award: Honors an innovative transportation project or service that improves the quality of life for its users and the community.

WTS-SF is currently looking to compile all historical information related to the chapter since its formation in 1981. If you have any pictures, programs, award information, etc. that you could share with us, please contact our historian Gregory King.
WTS-SF is currently looking to create a Younger Member/Student email list for upcoming younger member and university events. If you are interested in being on this mailing list, please email our Younger and Student Member Outreach chair Danielle Elkins with the names and email addresses of those that you think might be interested.
ACE Mentorship Program - Looking for volunteer mentors!
The ACE Mentor Program is a nationwide after-school program that strives to expose high school students to the fields of architecture, construction, and engineering through mentoring by industry professionals. The Contra Costa County ACE team is hosting an informational meeting on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at the Contra Costa Builders’ Exchange in Concord. Professionals of all levels of experience are invited to come learn about the program and how to become an ACE mentor. ACE has several chapters located throughout the Bay Area!
