NTM Engineering, Inc.

NTM10

NTM is a Platinum Sponsor of WTS Central PA and has been a sponsor since 2010!

Newell, Tereska, and MacKay (NTM) Engineering, Inc. was founded in December 2006, by Donna Newell, John Newell, Rachel Tereska, and Jeffrey MacKay. NTM is a civil engineering firm that specializes in water resources design, bridge design and inspection, and engineering instruction for public and private sectors clients. Their core services include hydrologic and hydraulic studies, waterway permitting, stormwaterdesign and permitting, GIS, transportation and bridge engineering, bridge inspection, and technical course development and training. As a practice-centered firm, NTM hires the best and brightest engineers for their key markets. As a result of the principals’ technical abilities, professional reputations, and management skills, as well as their focus on providing quality work and building strong client relationships, NTM Engineering has managed to grow from four employees to over 49 employees by 2017.

NTM is a registered Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, and West Virginia and a Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) with the federal government.

FUN FACT: As a testament to NTM’s leadership and its ability to provide a wonderful workplace, the firm ranked in the top three places for the small/medium companies for the Best Places to Work in PA within the last three years.

Example Projects:

SR 4016 Arch Rehabilitation

As part of a York County Central Group project to scope the replacement of three bridges, NTM provided the TS&L design and final design structure plans to rehabilitate SR 4016 over Bennett Run in Newberry Township, a single-span 68-foot stone masonry arch bridge. NTM also reviewed the H&H report and provided waterway permitting assistance. NTM provided the H&H analysis and waterway permitting for two other group bridges. The SR 0114 Section 021 Bridge project will replace a single-span 15-foot bridge over the Unnamed Tributary to Yellow Breeches Creek in Fairview Township. The SR 0194 Section 019 Baltimore Pike Bridge project will replace a two-span 91-foot bridge on Baltimore Pike over Mud Run in Washington Township.

Mohrsville Bridge Project

NTM performed the H&H analysis and developed a full H&H report for the SR 4026 Bridge Replacement over Schuylkill River project, located between Centre and Perry Townships. This project included replacement of the four-span steel rolled beam bridge with a four-span pre-stressed concrete spread box beam bridge with integral abutments on an upstream alignment. Due to the project’s location in a FEMA floodway, NTM evaluated the existing and proposed conditions to ensure no 100-year flood elevation increases. NTM also prepared the Joint Permit Application.

SR 0213 Maple Avenue over Neshaminy Creek

ntm_project3

NTM performed the H&H analysis and waterway permitting to replace the West Maple Avenue bridge over NeshaminyCreek (SR 0213) in Middletown and Lower Southampton Townships, Bucks County. The existing structure was an open spandrel concrete arch bridge with three spans and determined to be structurally deficient. It is being replaced with a three-span precast BEBO Concrete Arch System bridge at the same location, set at a 90º skew with a 225.8-foot span and 3,900-square-foot opening. The SR 0213 bridge replacement project lies within a designated floodway of a detailed FEMA study area. NTM performed the hydraulic analysis utilizing HEC-RAS and modeled existing and proposed conditions based on the surveyed cross sections, proposed site modifications, and peak discharge calculations. NTM secured the GP-11 and GP-8 waterway permits for the bridge replacement and temporary causeways, respectively.
