WTS-Boston congratulates Mary Jane O’Meara on being selected for the 2016 Woman of the Year Award!

Mary Jane O’Meara is a collaborative, innovative senior transportation leader with a proven track record of leading and working with diverse groups, including city, state, and federal transportation officials to accomplish complex goals. Her 30 years of experience includes two decades at the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport), serving as Operations Manager and then Director of the Tobin Memorial Bridge. Mary Jane is a strong advocate for professional development and mentoring, and serves as an active mentor to many professionals in the industry.

Mary Jane is featured in the book Boots on the Ground, Flats in the Boardroom and participated as a panelist in the WTS-Boston 2015 September Luncheon featuring women in the book. These honors have allowed WTS-Boston members to see (and read about) the accomplishments of Mary Jane and her commitment, as well as contributions, to the transportation industry.  Following is a summary of some of her achievements:

Mary Jane is passionate about transportation, and the role of women in advancing other women within the industry.  Her love of mentoring is evident by the multiple generations of women she has supported, and continues to support.  Mary Jane is compassionate, committed, and candid, and her advice always comes with her great sense of humor and perspective.
