WTS-Boston congratulates Ellen DeNooyer on being selected for the 2017 Innovative Transportation Solutions Award

DeNooyer_Head_Shot

Ellen DeNooyer is a licensed architect with over 25 years of experience in the management of complex projects, including large transportation, institutional and commercial projects in New Eng-land, New York, and overseas.  She is a Senior Project Manager with a focus on Transit-Oriented Development projects at the MBTA’s Capital Delivery Department.  Ellen joined the MBTA after over 20 years of leading design teams for A/E consulting firms.

Ms. DeNooyer served as MBTA Project Manager for the recently-opened Boston Landing at All-ston/Brighton commuter rail station, one of the first Public Private Partnership (P3) projects in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  The innovation of the P3 project delivery enabled the MBTA to leverage its limited resources with the addition of private funding to provide a new station which would otherwise not be achievable using only public funds.  The station was conceived to support the New Balance headquarters and multi-use Boston Landing development, as well as to restore train service to a neighborhood of Boston which has not been served by commuter rail in the last 50 years.

Prior to joining the MBTA, Ms. DeNooyer was a Senior Associate and Project Manager at TRO Jung|Brannen and at Wallace Floyd Design Group.

Ellen is a long-time member of WTS and of CREW Boston, as well as a LEED Accredited Profes-sional in Building Design + Construction.  She is an elected Town Meeting Member in Milton, and has also served on the town’s Master Plan Committee and her neighborhood association board.

Ellen received her Master of Architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design, and her B.A. from Brown University.
