WTS-Boston Committee Spotlight: Communications Commitee

April 23, 2015 07:35 AM

Have you joined WTS Boston recently and tried to figure out how to become more involved? The Communications Committee might be a good fit for you. It exposes you to all of the programs the chapter puts on each month, it gives you access to job boards and other exciting news from fellow WTS Boston members, and it also elevates your profile with the WTS Boston Executive Board. How does the Communications Committee accomplish all of this? The Committee publishes the WTS-Boston annual report and maintains the WTS-Boston Chapter website under the direction of the Board of Directors. The committee issues weekly and periodic emails to all members and registered non-members about upcoming events and programs using Constant Contact. The committee also participates in using familiar social media such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Flickr using Hootsuite to promote WTS. Why not use your social media expertise for this purpose?  The Communications Committee also develops Member Spotlights to highlight some of our Member volunteers.  Heightened awareness of WTS-Boston and women in the transportation field are integral parts of the chapter’s mission that are promoted by the Communications Committee.

If you would like to volunteer to be a part of our Committee please contact the Communications Co-Chairs:

Sarah Deschaine, Parsons Brinckerhoff, Deschaine@pbworld.com

Heather Hamilton, MassDOT Highway Division, heather.hamilton@state.ma.us

Sarah and Heather would like to thank our current volunteers:

  • Janelle Pierce, Bryant Associates, Inc
  • Rebecca Heavey, Howard/Stein-Hudson
  • Lisa Jacobson, Nelson\Nygaard Consulting
  • Pamela Roscoe, Marketing Consultant

Sarah and Heather would also like to thank our Board of Directors Liaison Lori Chicoyne, Kennedy/Jenks.

“In addition to regular conference calls, the Communications Committee meets in person a few times a year to celebrate successes!”
