2017 WTS-Boston Emerging Professional Program Recap

The WTS-Boston Emerging Professional (EP) Program provided me with one of the most rewarding and gratifying experiences this year. I was introduced to WTS during my last couple of months of internship in 2016 at the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) and I met many incredible professionals in the transportation field. WTS- Boston December Luncheon Seminar

On December 14, 2017, MassDOT Secretary of Transportation Stephanie Pollack spoke to an audience of over 300 WTS-Boston members and guests. Secretary Pollack spoke enthusiastically about planning for our transportation system, and the importance of preparing plans that lead to action. During the discussion, audience members learned about five kinds of planning that MassDOT is focused on.

2017 WTS International Chapter Leadership Training

Three of WTS-Boston Leadership, Rebecca Williamson, WTS-Boston President from Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (Jacobs), Kristine Gorman, WTS-Boston Secretary from Jacobs and Colleen Moore, WTS-Boston 2019 WTS International Conference Committee Co-Chair from City Point Partners attended WTS International Chapter Leadership Training in Las Vegas, NV on November 16th and 17th. There were just under 100 chapter leaders from across the country in attendance at the training.

WTS-Boston Public Art Project Making Strides

WTS-Boston is pleased to announce a major milestone in the organizations fund raising efforts to install art at Boston’s South Station with a recent award of $100,000 grant from the City of Boston’s Edward Ingersoll Browne Fund. This project is spearheaded by an art committee comprised of WTS members passionate to showcase women’s contributions to the transportation industry through art.
