Turning Weakness in to Strengths, lessons from the March Formal Mentoring Event

On March 27th, the formal mentoring program hosted its third group event at Jacobs in Boston. Dorri Raposa led a discussion on the topic of turning weaknesses into strengths. Dorri, who recently retired after working in the transportation industry for 40 years, has been involved with WTS since 1991, is a past President of WTS-Boston, and is Past Chair of the WTS Foundation.

WTS-Boston 2019 New Year’s Reception

On January 29th, WTS-Boston members and sponsors gathered for an evening of networking at the UMass Club in Boston. The UMass Club provided a beautiful setting for the Chapter’s annual New Year’s Reception which offers a time for friends and colleagues to reconnect after the holidays and discuss professional goals for the new year.


Formal Mentoring Program Kickoff

WTS-Boston kicked off its formal mentoring program on January 24th at Jacobs Engineering. The theme of the event was Company Culture (and why it matters) and featured speakers Monica Tibbets-Nutt, Executive Director of the 128 Business Council and member of the MassDOT Board of Directors and the Fiscal and Management Control Board that oversees the MBTA and Becky Williamson, immediate past president of WTS-Boston and Principal at Jacobs. The event was extremely successful, attended by almost all​

WTS-Boston seeks to recognize the best and brightest women seeking careers in transportation. The WTS-Boston chapter awarded $12,000 in scholarships this year.
