February 9, 2015 10:04 AM

Author: Paige Colton, U.S. DOT Volpe Center

Leonor Filipe, a long-time member of and contributor to WTS-Boston, has been appointed to the newly-created MetroWest Commission on the Status of Women. The Commission, established through state legislation in late 2014, will study and report on the status of women and girls in the region and report findings annually to the state-wide Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women.

“The new MetroWest Commission will find ways to advance women and girls in our communities and help them to succeed and lead,” said Sen. Karen Spilka. “I’m pleased to congratulate the first group of commissioners. These impressive leaders will do a terrific job promoting equality and opportunity and making sure that MetroWest women have a voice locally and state-wide.”
