2019 Committee Spotlight - Programs Committee

Are you looking to get more involved in WTS-Boston?  Do you have an interest in planning events and meeting new people?  If so, please consider joining the WTS-Boston Programs Committee!

The Programs Committee is responsible for developing, planning, and conducting eight monthly luncheon meetings held throughout the year as well as the summer tour event.  Being a part of our committee is an excellent way to get to know your peers, as well as the monthly speaker, typically a key industry leader.  In executing the monthly luncheons, the committee volunteers share registration duties (which is an excellent low-pressure opportunity to greet and meet all our registered guests!), manage the marketing table, print nametags, and prepare a newsletter article recapping the event.  Each month two luncheon champions serve as the main point of contact between the speaker, the committee, and the WTS Board.  Additionally, the Programs Committee aids in selecting programs which provide information about all modes of transportation and actively seeks female speakers (if appropriate) to discuss these issues.  Our committee is dedicated to building the future of transportation through the advancement of women, a guiding principle of the WTS organization!

Come join our next Committee Meeting on April 3rd at the Transportation Building located at 10 Park Plaza.  We meet on the 7th Floor in conference RM 7511!  E-mail Kate or Alyssa for more information.

If you would like to volunteer or learn how to be a part of our Committee, please contact the Programs Co-Chairs:

Kate Maker, Michael Baker International, Katharine.maker@mbakerintl.com

Alyssa Peck, Weston & Sampson, pecka@wseinc.com

We would like to thank Theresa Carr, our 2019 Board Liaison, and all of our current volunteers for all their hard work!
