In today's complex world of global economies, intermodalism, and fluid political realities, WTS remains strong because of its diversified membership. WTS members come from both the public and the private sectors, from every transportation mode, and from every discipline. From finance to logistics, from rail to highway, from Vancouver to South Florida, San Diego to London, WTS members are devoted to the advancement of the transportation industry and its practitioners.

Membership dues are based on salary. There are nine different membership rates. Individual membership includes membership in a primary chapter.  Individuals interested in joining WTS, but are located more than 50 miles from a local chapter, can join as a Member-at-Large. There are also membership opportunities for students and retirees.
