The WTS Foundation offers two undergraduate and two graduate scholarships annually to women focusing on a career in transportation or a transportation-related field. WTS-Rhode Island also offers one undergraduate and one graduate scholarship to qualified applicants. Qualified candidates may be selected by the Rhode Island chapter to compete for one of the WTS Foundation Scholarships.
Scholarship applications for the 2010 year will be accepted beginning in November. Please check back for available local and national applications.

The WTS-Rhode Island chapter is proud to announce the winners of the local WTS-Scholarship competition.
Local Undergraduate Scholarship Winner:
Courtney Danella
University of Rhode Island
Expected Graduation: May, 2010
Degree: Bachelor of Science
Concentration: Civil and Environmental Engineering
Ms. Danella is a goal oriented, motivated, undergraduate student that has set herself apart from her peers through her leadership skills. She demonstrates these skills through her involvement in professional engineering affiliations and through her transportation studies at the University of Rhode Island.
Local Graduate Scholarship Winner:
Deanna Peabody
University of Massachusetts Amherst
Expected Graduation: December, 2010
Degree: Master of Science
Concentration: Transportation Engineering
Ms. Peabody is a hardworking graduate student that is dedicated to the transportation industry. She has gained professional experience throughout her engineering related internships. She is involved in many professional affiliations and is a WTS-Rhode Island member.
